The minimal approach and careful choice of materials and techniques harks back to deconstructivist works. The structure of this piece reflects the traditional technique of stacking and layering wood to dry, as used in lumberyards in the Engadin region of Switzerland.
‘geschichte-t / desk’ forms part of the Herzschuss (shot to the heart) exhibition in the Engadin (Switzerland) where Sachs celebrates his close connection to the customs, materials and traditional furniture of his childhood landscape.
The specially created works included furniture, photography and sculpture, offering an immersive, multi-sensory way of experiencing the Engadin valley’s varied and intriguing traditions.
