By letting people dance, sing, shout and let their hair down in front of the camera, Rolf Sachs’ portraits capture their spirit, their soul. This series started during the opening night of ‘Conversation Piece’ at the Fondazione Memmo where Rolf transformed the visitors into the creators and subjects of the artwork themselves, staging a live experimental social sculpture.
His ‘Moving Portraits’ series took an even more poignant turn during Covid when encounters and interaction were scarse.
