As part of the in pulse exhibition, a Köln chair is cast in red wax and then delicately ‘humanised’ through the melting, folding and bubbling of sections.
In the HorgenGlarus series, this classic chair, a purely functional piece of furniture, is being turned it in to a work with emotional resonance. Through constant reinterpretation, the chair has become an ideal blank canvas for ongoing experimentation’s with its form and materials (such as silicone, slate, rubber, resin), each taking on a new personality.
