Created for Fortis watches, frisson (in French: ‘chill’, or ‘shiver’) a limited art-edition watch using brushed steel, transparent silicone and a mineral crystal watch face – resembling the condensation on an ice-cold glass – which only allows a glimpse of the dials beneath. Breathing on the face, or wiping a finger across its surface reveals the time, creating a unique, tactile experience, reminiscent of cold, ice and winter.
To date, Rolf Sachs has worked with Fortis on four art edition watch projects: IQ, frisson, 2π and 2.4ml, joining a distinguished group of designers who have created limited edition watches for the Swiss watchmaker.
