Set design for Opera de Monte Carlo
The production design for Bellini’s Norma, choreographed by Jean-Christophe Maillot, allowed for the creation of a very emotive set, working alongside Karl Lagerfield, who designed the costumes for this performance at the Opera de Monte Carlo.
Icy white tones, cold blues and geometric stage designs reflect the winter theme, utilising the empty spaces of the stage as a powerful symbolic reference, focusing the viewer on minute details, such as the crystallised white roses, which act in direct contrast to the darkness surrounding them – reinforcing the ethereal tone.
