Ballet set design for Les Ballets de Monte Carlo
Sachs’ first venture into set design, Altro Canto was an exercise in minimalism, where a purist aesthetic ensured any decorative or extraneous elements were paired back. The approach used a subtle choreography of natural light, using suspended candles that ‘floated’ across the stage to create a haunting and transient atmosphere. The ‘Altro Canto’ production has toured on an international circuit, including the ‘Maillot|Millepied’ performance at the Staatsballett Berlin:
