‘Bet(t)ruf’ was made from native Swiss maple wood by a historic, traditional Swiss carpenter, a Weissküfer, who usually produces equipment for dairy and alpine farming.
This piece forms part of the alpine 2 exhibition, where Sachs reflects on alpine history, culture, and craftsmanship. This new series of works was shown alongside some iconic pieces at the Vieux Chalet in Gstaad (Switzerland) in collaboration with Hauser & Wirth. The exhibition featured sculptures, portraiture and a large-scale site-specific installation on the exterior.
