rocks is a site-specific intervention using rocks collected by Sachs from a riverbed of the Inn river near S-chanf in the Engadin. He draws much of his inspiration from the immediate surroundings and injects his perceptions of the region into personal works that celebrate local traditions, craftsmanship and landscape.
This installation forms part of the alpine 2 exhibition, where Sachs reflects on alpine history, culture and craftsmanship and was shown alongside some iconic pieces at the Vieux Chalet in Gstaad (Switzerland) in collaboration with Hauser & Wirth. The exhibition featured sculptures, portraiture and a large-scale site-specific installation on the exterior.
