‘rush hour’ uses the typical hourglass shape to force the electrical particles through a narrow space, causing them to heat up and lighting up more intensely.
The piece forms part of the neon series where a scientific investigation of the limits of argon and neon are combined with the skills of an expert glassblower, to create works made from scientific glassware that challenge our preconceptions of what the gases are capable of.
